My New Favorite Chart: The Porkulus Isn’t Working

This chart was originally put out by the Obama administration back in February when the porkulus bill was being debated. It supposedly showed the projected unemployment rate with and without passage of the porkulus. The red dots, however, are the actual unemployment rate as it has been recorded in March, April, and May. As you can see, unemployment is much worse than the administration expected. Some might even argue that it is worse because the porkulus was passed.
